Are you up for the Challenge?

The Challenge, should you accept, is to take inventory of your home’s smoke alarms and test them all.

This spring, we will be going door to door to talk to residents about fire safety. This friendly visit won’t take much time, and you could walk away with a brand new smoke alarm or replacement batteries for your current alarm, all for free!

So what do you have to do? Go through your home and count the number of smoke alarms you have. (Hint – you should have one on each floor). Next go around and check them all by pressing the “test” button on the face of your alarm. Finally, keep track of this info. Write down the number of alarms you have, where they are located, if they worked and the date. Keep this info somewhere accessible so that in six months you can check them again and have information to compare.

If you find that you are short of alarms or they aren’t working properly, we can help you! When we come to your door to chat about the Alarmed and Ready Challenge, let us know you need a new alarm or batteries. We'll give you one on the spot, for free.

Smoke alarms can save your life, but only if you have them properly installed and working. The Challenge is simple and the results are incredible. We hope you will accept.
