2010 Burning Season Underway

With such an early and warm spring, residents should be aware that the woods are drier this spring than they have been in the past.  The Long Reach Fire Department has already been out to one large forest fire and the hottest part of the summer is still to come.  Check before you burn to make sure that burning is permitted, never burn when it's windy, and always make sure the fire is well out before leaving the site.  Water Bombers are expensive to rent.
