The provincial government has launched a Disaster Financial Assistance program to help small businesses and individuals who suffer property damage during this flood. Click HERE for more information about this program.
As freshet levels continue to rise, Residents of Southern New Brunswick are urged to be aware of changing conditions. We're seeing unprecidented water levels from Fredericton to Saint John, so even if your home or property has never flooded before, keep alert to the latest forecasts from the New Brunswick River Watch Centre (http://www2.gnb.ca/content/gnb/en/news/public_alerts/river_watch.html). The Emergency Measures Organization has delivered sand and sandbags to our station, and these will be available for the duration of the flood.
Anyone that needs to evacuate their home, please call and register with the Red Cross (1-800-863-6582) who can help with accommodations if necessary. If you do not need help with accommodations you are still asked to register with the Red Cross. As always, in the event of an emergency, call 911 immediately.
