Fire Prevention Week

Post date: Oct 12, 2010 2:5:48 AM

This week, the Long Reach Fire Department will be visiting MacDonald Consolidated School, in conjunction with Fire Prevention Week.  The theme of Fire Prevention Week this year is "Watch What You Heat".  Cooking fires are preventable, keep an eye on what you are cooking, and used approved utensils when preparing meals.

Each year, we visit MCS and talk to the students about fire safety.  We show them what a firefighter looks and sounds like in breathing apparatus so that they will be less likely to hide in the event of an emergency, we talk to them about fire escape plans and about when to dial 9-1-1.

Students can enter for a chance to be fire chief for a day.  Download an entry form by clicking here
